Pinoso CF 0 UD Horadada 0

Looking for all three points to keep the pressure on rivals Almoradi at the top of Preferente Horadada were held to a goal less draw at 6th placed Pinosa on Saturday, a club which still have play off ambitions of their own. But as one travelling fan said after the encounter “This was one of those games best forgotten with neither side doing anything to promote their cause.”

Any game against Pinoso is never easy though, and the Reds have come to appreciate that after many years of competition between the two clubs but on Saturday Pinoso were certainly there for the taking had anything other than a poor Horadada team turned up.

There was hardly an opportunity of note in the entire 90 minutes and with Campillo and Alex once again directing things at the back the home side rarely had an effort on goal. There was perhaps just one scare for the visitors which came midway through the 2nd period when a shot from Jose David hit the upright, but apart from that the Horadada defence had things pretty much under control.

Unfortunately it was much the same at the other end, just one attempt worth recording coming midway through the opening half. A shot from the edge of the box found it’s way through a crowded area from Campillo. With Titi on the Pinoso line any sort of contact would have done the job but the Horadada forward failed to get the touch he needed.

The game was most remembered for the nonstop diving from both sets of players, something that is unfortunately rampant at this level of the Spanish. However, we are usually spared such theatrics from the boys in Red but at Pinoso unfortunately they allowed their play to be influenced by the theatrics of the opposition.

With Pedreňo using his entire bench the one glimmer of hope came midway through the 2nd period with the arrival onto the pitch of new boy Salinas but without any support up front even he couldn’t make too much difference to the Horadada play.

Before the game Pedreňo would quite probably have taken a point but with all three there for the taking it was a disappointing journey home for the Reds.
